Both the eighth-grade and seventh-grade Mahomet-Seymour Junior High boys’ basketball teams opened their seasons on Tuesday (Oct. 31) with wins at home.

In first-round action of the Bulldog Invitational, the Bulldogs handed Mount Zion a 50-28 loss. The seventh-graders prevailed over Mount Zion, 42-30.

Jackson Golden hit a team-high 18 points for the M-S eighth-graders. Teammate Preston Clark drained four three-point shots and registered 12 points.

Both M-S teams return to action in second-round tournament action on Wednesday (Nov. 1) against Danville North Ridge.
