MSHS Soccer
The Bulldogs got their second ever win against the Danville Vikings 6-1 Saturday.
Austin Carr was able to give the Bulldogs an early lead being assisted by Jacob Peterson. Danville came right back with returning all-state player Caleb Griffin driving a ball into the goal.
Shortly after, Carr was again able to find the net, this time assisted by Trevor Burgess. Carr later returned the favor and assisted Trevor Burgess for a goal. Before the half, Austin Carr picked up a hat trick, again assisted by Burgess to give the Dogs a 4-1 halftime lead.
Jacob Peterson was able to put the defense under pressure in the beginning of the second half. He beat his defender to gain entry into the box. The defender brought him down from behind to give the Bulldogs a penalty. Brandon Bussman converted the PK.
Bussman and Ethan Mansfield continued their trend of controlling the midfield. Few teams this year have been able to win the battle in the midfield against the Bulldogs. Mansfield closed out the scoring for the Dogs. Trevor Burgess picked up his third assist of the game to go with his goal.
