MSHS Softball defeats St. Thomas More

Mahomet-Seymour’s softball team evened its season record at 1-1 on Wednesday with a 25-1, five-inning victory over visiting St. Thomas More.
The Sabers scored the first run. M-S scored the next 25, including 13 in the second inning.
All 12 Bulldogs who stepped into the batter’s box collected at least one hit.
Leading the way, with three hits apiece, were Madi Scott and Ashley Wheeler. Two of Wheeler’s hits were doubles and she drove in six runs.
Kameryn Brotherton and Wheeler each scored four runs. Scott had three RBI.
Madison Maring, Julia McNaught, Madi Scott and Carlee Scott all scored three runs.
Aubrie Shore picked up the pitching win. She pitched three innings of no-hit ball, walking one and striking out six. Wheeler worked the final two innings, yielding one single. She had two strikeouts.
Through two games, M-S has scored 33 runs and collected 26 hits.
