MSHS Recognizes Students of the Fall Semester
The following high school students received the Student of the Semester Award for fall 2018.
Freshmen Nick Traficante
Student’s ambition(s) or dream(s): I want to go to college and possibly have a career in creative writing. I also would like to continue playing music.
Additional Comments: Always be true to yourself. Don’t try to be someone you’re not.
Parents’ comment(s) or quote: Nicholas has an incredible work ethic. He’s responsible, compassionate and loyal. He has a love of writing, playing the trumpet and has an amazing sense of humor. We are so proud of the young man Nicholas has become.
Teacher comments: Nick brings energy and ambition to our 2nd hour family, and both have proven to be contagious. He is a superb example of someone who strives to do well, but not at the expense of perspective or having some light-hearted fun. I love the balance he models each day.
Sophomore Lydia Schable
Student’s ambition(s) or dream(s): I would like to study in state, and eventually become a midwife someday after graduating.
Additional Comments: I am very proud of my school. I am so grateful to get to partake in my school activities such as sports and music.
Parents’ comment(s) or quote: Lydia is a smart, beautiful, responsible, sensitive, loyal, and wonderful young woman who is going to be successful in whatever she does in the future. She is just an absolutely wonderful person, and I am extremely proud of her.
Teacher comments: She has such solid character and motivation to personally evolve and to succeed in life — and I know she will. She is a stand-out in her graduating class and deserves to be recognized. It is without hesitation and great pleasure that I recommend this outstanding young lady.
Junior Kayin Garner
Student’s ambition(s) or dream(s): I want to play college volleyball and earn a scholarship to college.
Additional Comments:
Parents’ comment(s) or quote: I am extremely proud of Kayin and her accomplishments in the classroom, and who she has become as a person. She has learned to put in the extra effort in several areas of her life whether it be school or God.
Teacher comments: One of the highlights of my semester was getting to know and work with Kayin. It’s inspiring to be around someone who is so earnest, unassuming and committed to excellence no matter the context. Whether volleyball, her friendships or her coursework, Kayin puts forth her reasonable best in a soft-spoken, lead-by-example way.
Claire Schwarzentraub= Senior
Student’s ambition(s) or dream(s): I hope to become a math teacher or possibly a professor someday.
Additional Comment: I love my school and am so grateful to be able to represent my class as “student of the semester”.
Parents’ comment(s) or quote: Claire has always made us smile and laugh because she adds an element of fun to just about everything. We also love her tender heart and her ability to connect with people.
