MSHS girls’ basketball loses Danville, play final home game tonight

Urbana snapped an 11-11 tie after one quarter and raced past visiting Mahomet-Seymour on Tuesday, 65-52, in a non-conference boys’ basketball game.
The Tigers (13-13) led 26-21 at halftime and expanded the lead to 13 points after three quarters.
Grant Coleman led M-S (9-14) with 18 points. Connor Kamphaus added 11 points.
Cole Lener was the Bulldogs’ top rebounder with six boards.
Jordan Veldman and Connor Kamphaus each had three assists.
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday at Taylorville.
Girls’ basketball
A double-double by Lakeida Nichols wasn’t enough to propel Mahomet-Seymour to victory on Monday at Danville.
Nichols put up 10 points and 11 rebounds in the Bulldogs’ 60-39 loss to the Vikings (13-13). She also had four assists.
Makayla Rosenbery finished with nine points.
Abby Kyle and Kailyn Northrup each grabbed four rebounds.
Danville led, 11-8, after one quarter and 29-15 at halftime.
M-S (12-15) returns to action tonight at home against Taylorville.
The Bulldogs are 4-7 entering their Apollo Conference finale.
