MSHS Cross Country teams win Apollo Conference meet, Volleyball and Soccer pick up wins
The Mahomet-Seymour Boys and Girls Cross Country teams finished first in the Apollo Conference meet Monday.
Ryan Hodge, Mathias Powell, and Riley Fortune finished in first through third while Kaelan Davis finished tenth. These four runners earned all-conference status by finishing in the top 10.
Gaven Williams ran a season best time for one of the best efforts of the night.
MSHS Volleyball
The Bulldogs defeated Clinton in two sets 25-16, 25-19 on the road Monday.
Savannah Matthews had 12 kills and 15 digs. Ainsley Ranstead had 11 kills and Sam Hites had 8 kills. Kayin Garner contributed 30 assists.
MSHS Soccer
Mahomet varsity soccer was able to defeat Effingham 8-0 to improve to 14-4-3.
Trevor Burgess had a night to remember. He had two goals and three assists on the night. Jacob Peterson opened up the scoring by beating his man on the wing to give the Bulldogs a 1-0 lead.
The rain was not able to slow the Bulldogs, as several were able to find the back of the net. Wyatt Berg had one goal, while Austin Carr and Gabe Fulk both had two goals. Ethan Mansfield was able to get two assists on the night. Kerry Lippold Jr. and Carter Osman were each able to pick up an assist.
