MSHS basketball picks up first win of the season over Cahokia

Jackson Bohm tallied 21 points on Saturday (Nov. 25) as the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball team registered its first win of the season, 77-52, over Cahokia in the seventh-place game of the Lincoln Eaton Tournament.
Bohm made all seven of the shots he attempted from the field.
For the Bulldogs, it was the second game in a row that the team achieved a season’s high for points scored. M-S led, 16-6, after one quarter.
Henry Wagner connected for a season-high 12 points and cleared six rebounds. Finnley Randolph scored 10 points and Lucas Dyer chipped in with seven points.
Other point-makers for the Bulldogs were Cade Starrick (six points), Landyn Hannah (six points), Miles Woolsey (five points), Timothy Anderson (four points) and Gavin Bailey (one point).
Hannah drained 6 of 6 free throws. Overall, M-S players made 17 of 21 attempts from the charity line. Bohm was 5-for-7.
Bohm and Dyer each dished out two assists. Woolsey grabbed five rebounds.
Bohm, Randolph and Starrick all hit two three-point shots. Woolsey nailed one shot from beyond the arc.
On Friday (Nov 24), Bohm scored a career-high 23 points as M-S suffered a 65-60 loss to Danville.
Bohm hit 9 of 13 shots from the field and 5 of 6 attempts from the free throw line. Bohm also had two assists.
Dyer delivered 16 points and three assists for the Bulldogs. Wagner hit a season-high 10 points for M-S and pulled down five rebounds.
Randolph added eight points to go with a team-high seven rebounds. Starrick made two points and Woolsey contributed a free throw.
The Bulldogs held a 30-28 halftime lead over the Vikings.
M-S (1-3) returns to action on Thursday (Nov. 30) at home in their Apollo Conference opener against Mattoon.
