Miles Woolsey’s Stellar Relief Performance Lifts Mahomet-Seymour Baseball to Victory Over Normal West

Reliever Miles Woolsey worked four innings and earned the pitching win on Tuesday (May 14) as the Mahomet-Seymour baseball team snapped a 6-6 tie with a four-run fifth inning and posted a 10-8 non-conference win at Normal West.
Woolsey (3-0) walked no one and struck out five after coming in for Alec Bergman, who fanned four hitters in two innings. Cade Starrick preserved the victory with a scoreless seventh inning that featured two strikeouts.
Gavin Bailey and Nolan Johnson were offensive catalysts for the Bulldogs. Bailey hammered a home run and knocked in three runs. Johnson doubled twice and delivered two RBI.
Camden Heinold, Finn Randolph and Tyson Finch all finished with one hit. Heinold drove in one run.
Randolph and Raymond Long each tallied two runs. Crossing home plate one time each were Heinold, Bailey, Johnson, Finch, Matthew Orr and Noah Butler.
M-S (24-7) has won its last four games and returns to action on Thursday (May 16) at Bloomington.
