Middletown Prairie Elementary and Mahomet-Seymour Junior High School will adjust arrival and dismissal times beginning in the 2018-2019 school year.
With first and second-grade students joining kindergarten students at Middletown, bus routes will change. The Mahomet-Seymour Board packet stated that the new bus routes would be announced closer to the beginning of the 2018-2019 school year.
The new start times will also allow time for elementary students to eat breakfast prior to the beginning of class.
The board packet also states that the new arrival and dismissal times are not meant to alleviate traffic.
“This would require much greater staggering of start/end times of all buildings,” the packet reads.
