MAYC will temporarily close after March 16

The Mahomet Area Youth Club has announced that they will be open Monday, March 16 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. for those that need childcare.

The decision comes after Gov. J.B. Pritzker closed K-12 schools until March 30 and one case has been confirmed in Champaign County. 

“These efforts are to protect everyone and although are inconvenient, it’s important that we understand that we each have a role in helping stop the spread of the virus with social distancing,” Executive Director Sara Balgoyen.

“PLEASE do not send your kids to MAYC tomorrow unless it is ABSOLUTELY VITAL for your family and they are not in a high-risk group.   We ask that you please be considerate of other families and use your best judgement.”
