MAYC to remain open over spring break
The Mahomet-Area Youth Club will remain open for spring break.
In a letter to parents on Thursday, Executive Director Sara Balgoyen outlined some precautions the club is taking in preparations for children March 13-March 20.
- MAYC will follow the precautions and recommendations set forth by the local, state and federal health officials.
- MAYC will follow the lead of local school districts. If school is closed, MAYC is closed.
- MAYC staff and students are asked to stay home if they show any symptoms related to the virus and/or other contagious illnesses such as fever, sore throat, dry hacking cough or shortness of breath. Additionally, if ANYONE in the home shows these symptoms, please consider keeping everyone home.
- MAYC staff or students will be sent home if they have a fever and may not return until they are fever free for 24 hours.
- MAYC staff and students will be regularly washing hands and sanitizing common areas.
- MAYC reserves the right to change programming or close the building as needed to protect families in our community.
Balgoyen said that health professionals are suggesting that if people can stay away from crowds and can stay home they should.
“This applies to MAYC as well,” she wrote.
