Martin drains 18 as Bulldogs top Mount Zion

Courtney Fonte knocked down nine points and was backed by a strong supporting cast on Thursday (Sept. 30) as the unbeaten Mahomet-Seymour Junior High seventh-grade girls’ basketball team rolled to its sixth consecutive victory.
M-S won at Paxton-Buckley-Loda, 34-5.
Other scoring leaders for the Bulldogs were Breckyn Hess (eight points), Hannah Martin (six points) and Addison Schultz (six points).
On Monday (Oct. 4), nine Bulldogs reached the scoring column in a 29-10 triumph over Tuscola in the first round of the Bulldog Invitational.
Fonte hit a team-high six points. Aubrey Meints, Olivia Cox and Hess each tallied four points.
On Tuesday (Oct. 5), Martin registered the team’s top-scoring game of the season, netting 18 points in a 29-10 tournament victory over Mount Zion.
Hess chipped in with six points.
The Bulldogs (8-0) return to action on Thursday (Oct. 7) against Tolono Unity in the final round of the Bulldog Invitational.
