Mahomet-Seymour’s Cole Marshall won three events and took second in another on Thursday (Feb. 10) in a three-school non-scored mini boys track and field meet at the M-S fieldhouse.
Marshall was the only multiple-event winner in the meet, which also included Clifton Central and Fisher.
He won the long jump (5.78 meters or 18 feet, 9 inches), the triple jump (12.05 meters or 39 feet, 5 inches) and the 60-meter dash (6.89 seconds). He was second to teammate Ty Lewis in the 200 meters.
Lewis was timed in 24.47 seconds. Marshall crossed the finish line in 24.81 seconds.
M-S swept the top two positions in every event except the triple jump, where Marshall was the lone entry.
The other winners in running events were Blake Dillman in the 800 meters (2:16.05), who finished ahead of Avery Seaman (2:19.34), and Joseph Scheele, who outran teammate Jonah Singer in the 1,600 meters.
Scheele’s time was 4:36.31. Singer was clocked in 4:42.93.
Ty Clark (3.53 meters or 11 feet, 5 inches) and Alex Carpenter (3.20 meters or 10 feet, 4 inches) were first and second, respectively, in the pole vault.
Josh Franklin cleared 1.55 meters (or 5 feet) in the high jump to outdistance David Andrawes (1.45 meters or 4 feet, 7 inches).
In the shot put, Caleb Boykin was the winner (11.41 meters or 37 feet, 4 inches) and was followed by Robert Byron (11.29 meters or 37 feet).
The runner-up to Marshall in the long jump was Joel Hansens (5.16 meters or 16 feet, 9 inches).
The Bulldogs return to action on Friday (Feb. 18) in a mini meet at home.
