Savannah Amatyleon and Lillie Hillard won singles matches for the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ tennis team on Thursday (Sept. 23), but the Bulldogs dropped a 7-2 dual-meet decision to Maroa-Forsyth at the University of Illinois courts.
At No. 5 singles, Amatyleon topped Emma Fawley, 6-4, 6-4.
At No. 6 singles Hillard edged Emma Schmahl, 6-3, 2-6, 10-4.
The Trojans swept the doubles matches, but faced an intense battle at No. 2, where Jadyn Hannah and Lydia Johnson dropped a narrow 6-3, 7-5 decision to Madison Wang and Isabella Nilles.
M-S (4-3) returns to action on Monday (Sept. 27) at the UI against Charleston.
