Mahomet unofficial elections results April 4, 2023
Unofficial election results from the Champaign County Clerk show that Jeff Banister (1,926 votes), Kyle Jordan (1,935 votes), Jordan Rock (2,012 votes) and Becky Severns (1,899 votes) have secured four seats on the Mahomet-Seymour School Board. This was the only contested race in the Mahomet-Seymour area.
The Village of Mahomet’s advisory referendum for a $28 million outdoor pool and recreation facility failed with a vote of 1,258 (74.66%) to 427 (25.34%), signaling to the Village that taxpayers were not willing to support a pool and/or facility referendum that would increase property taxes.
Other uncontested races left Bill Oliger, Bruce Colravy, Becky Preston and Jason Tompkins on the Village of Mahomet Board. Mike Cunningham, Stevi Stutzman and Scott Schaumann won seats for the Mahomet Public Library Board while Mark Kaiser and James Rolson will continue on the Cornbelt Fire Protection District board. Brian Chester, Richard Eardley, Tom Johnson, Steve Moberley, Constance Musik, Mark Reifsteck and Cameron Wygant will be seated on the Sangamon Valley Public Water District board in May.
