Mahomet to Kick Off the Holiday Season with Festive Christmas Celebration

The village of Mahomet is ringing in the festive season with its much-anticipated Mahomet Village Christmas.

The event launches Friday evening at 5 pm on December 5 in downtown Mahomet with twinkling lights and the sounds of holiday music, including live performances by the MSHS Madrigals. Families can stroll along Main Street to enjoy a lively atmosphere, while children anticipate the arrival of Santa Claus himself at 6 pm, marking the official start of the season.

One highlight this year is Mahomet’s Christmas Parade, culminating with Santa’s grand entrance and a special meet-and-greet opportunity for children to capture memorable photos. Hot food and sweet treats will be provided by local food trucks, including Smith Burgers, Juanito’s Tacos, and Main Scoop.

Festivities continue on Saturday, December 7th, with a beloved tradition: “Donuts with Santa.” Children can enjoy breakfast, play games, and share moments with Santa during one of four morning time slots.

From 10 am to 2 pm, the Masonic Lodge on Main Street will host the Mahomet Kids’ Shop. This special shopping experience encourages children to select, purchase, and wrap gifts for loved ones with the help of friendly volunteers.

On Monday and Tuesday evenings, December 9th and 10th, Filippo’s in Mahomet will welcome guests for “Dinner with Santa.” Families are invited to enjoy pizza and a festive meal in the company of Santa himself. With limited seats available, interested families are encouraged to reserve their spots in advance, with a booking deadline set for December 2nd.
