Mahomet Teen Reis Claybrooke Clinches Lake of the Woods Golf Club Championship with Stunning 69

Mahomet teen-ager Reis Claybrooke fired a 69 and won the Lake of the Woods men’s golf club championship on Sunday (Aug. 4).

He edged runner-up Andrew Lawson by one stroke for his first club title.

Grant Kinkelaar was third (73), followed by Adam Woller (74) and Ben Crane (75).

The 17-year-old Claybrooke will be a senior at Mahomet-Seymour when classes start on Aug. 15.

In the first flight, top honors were captured by Austin Remus (85). Sharing second were Jeff Fuller and Keith Gordy (86s). Noah Crowley (88) was fourth.

In the Senior Division, Marty Williams carded a 75 and defeated Kevin Conner (76) by one shot.

There was a logjam for third with Jimmy Felkner, Guy Jamison and Brian Beherns all shooting 78s.

In the first flight of the Senior Division, Mark Guymon, Rick Little and Gus Potts fired 86s and tied for first. Ending in a tie for fourth were Steve Lawson and Dan Carlier, both with 88s.

In all, there were 43 participants.
