The Mahomet Sportsman Club will host a rib and chicken barbeque cook-off on September 22.

The event will begin at 8 a.m. with judging to follow at 3:30 p.m. Participants can begin to set up on the 21st at 5 p.m.

Only wood or charcoal cookers are allowed to enter.

Participants will be judged on appearance, texture and taste.

Entry to the contest is $10 for ribs and chicken. The event is open to members of the Mahomet Sportsman Club and the public.
