Mahomet-Seymour’s Winning Streak Halted in 5-2 Setback Against Westville

In a showdown between two 20-win teams, the Mahomet-Seymour baseball team lost a 5-2 decision on Wednesday (May 8) at Westville.

M-S was held to four hits. Tyson Finch was 3-for-3 (with one double) while Raymond Long extended his hitting streak to 10 games with a double.

Long and Finch tallied the Bulldogs’ runs. Finch had an RBI.

Cade Starrick (3 1/3 innings) and Nolan Johnson (2 2/3 innings) shared the pitching load for M-S. Starrick registered four strikeouts and Johnson fanned three hitters.

M-S (20-7) returns to action on Thursday (May 9) at Tri-Valley. On Saturday (May 11), M-S plays at home against Mount Zion and tries to conclude an unbeaten Apollo Conference schedule. The Bulldogs enter with an 8-0 league record.
