Mahomet-Seymour Wrestling to begin season ranked 25 by The Illinois Best Weekly

Mahomet-Seymour High School wrestling was ranked 25^th in the preseason Class 2A state poll issued last week by The Illinois Best Weekly.

Four Bulldogs received attention in the individual state rankings, including senior 285-pounder Seth Buchanan, who was rated fifth after coming off of a 34-12 season.

Other teammates earning recognition were listed in the honorable mention category: senior Chance Decker (138 pounds), junior Gage Granadino (152 pounds) and junior Daniel Renshaw (195 pounds). Decker, Granadino and  Renshaw will likely open the season competing at higher weight classes.

M-S will start its season on Saturday at the Matozzi Invitational, hosted by Hinsdale South High School.
