Mahomet-Seymour Wrestling remains undefeated in dual meets

Mahomet-Seymour’s unbeaten wrestling team won 51 of 68 individual matches – and all five dual meets – on Saturday at home.
The Bulldogs defeated Olney East Richland 76-3, Westville 57-22, Lawrenceville 68-9, Cumberland 45-19 and LeRoy 49-24.
Five M-S grapplers were 5-0 for the day and two other teammates were 4-0.
Payton Ragona (113 pounds), Noah Schnepper (126 pounds), Braeden Heinold (132 pounds), Chance Decker (145 pounds) and Mateo Casillas (195 pounds) all went 5-0 for the day.
Completing the day with 4-0 records were Daniel Renshaw (220 pounds) and Seth Buchanan (285 pounds).
Gage Granadino (160 pounds) and Colton Crowley (182 pounds) were both 4-1.
Buchanan, Decker and Granadino all registered four pins. Three of Buchanan’s pins were posted in less than 40 seconds.
Casillas and Heinold ended with three pins apiece.
Decker had the team’s fastest fall of the day, 22 seconds. Other teammates with sub-one-minute falls were Heinold, Granadino and Logan Petro (138 pounds). Petro was 2-2 for the day.
Caleb Dowers (138 pounds) was the only other Bulldog with a pin.
Caden Hatton (106 pounds) was 3-2 for the day.
Other squad members who won at least once were Adam Pillischafske (113 pounds), Brennan Houser (152 pounds) and Hayden Nelson (170 pounds).
The Bulldogs (14-0) return to action on Friday with a dual meet at Sterling before traveling to Sycamore on Saturday for a tournament.
