Mahomet-Seymour wins another at home

Cayla Koerner matched her season-high with 26 points on Monday (Dec. 6) at home as the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ basketball team built a huge lead and withheld a late flurry by St. Joseph-Ogden to earn a 58-46 win at home.
M-S carried a 45-18 lead into the final eight minutes.
Koerner swished a season-high four three-point shots and also grabbed four steals.
Nichole Taylor tallied nine points and Ivie Juarez bagged seven points to go with a team-high nine rebounds. Durbin Thomas also scored seven points and cleared seven rebounds.
Koerner exploded for 12 second-quarter points as M-S enlarged a lead that was 8-5 after one stanza to 37-17 at halftime.
Abigail Bunting ended with three steals.
M-S (8-0) returns to action on Thursday (Dec. 9) at home against Charleston.
