Mahomet-Seymour volleyball sweeps Champaign Central

Avery Allen totaled seven kills and seven digs on Tuesday (Aug. 22) as the Mahomet-Seymour volleyball team opened its season with a sweep at Champaign Central, 26-17, 25-13.
Ellie Dallas registered eight assists. Ellie Barker added six kills and three digs. Allen also contributed one block and one service ace.
M-S (1-0) is scheduled to return to action on Thursday (Aug. 24) at home against Danville. The match will not be played at the high school, however. It has been shifted to the air-conditioned gymnasium at Middletown Prairie Elementary School.
There will be no charge for admission, nor a concession stand. Spectators are asked to use the west entrance.
The Bulldogs’ junior varsity team also won at Central, 25-20, 25-6 as did the freshmen team, 25-19, 25-16.
