Mahomet-Seymour’s volleyball team, ranked 15th in the state in Class 3A by Maxpreps, dropped a two-set Apollo Conference decision on Tuesday (Sept. 19) at Effingham.
The Flaming Hearts (12-5) topped the Bulldogs (14-3), 25-22, 25-18.
Avery Allen led M-S with eight digs, seven kills, two service aces and one block.
The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday (Sept. 21) at home against Charleston.
The M-S junior varsity squad rallied past Effingham, 8-25, 35-33, 15-9. In the freshmen match, M-S lost, 21-12, 15-21, 15-14.
