Mahomet-Seymour volleyball pulls to front of Apollo Conference rankings

In a showdown between the top two teams in the Apollo Conference, Mahomet-Seymour swept past visiting Taylorville, 26-24, 25-19, on Thursday (Oct. 5).
Each school entered the match with 6-1 league records. M-S is now in sole possession of first place with two league matches remaining.
Sparking the offense were Avery Allen (eight kills), Ellie Barker (seven kills) and Lily Bosworth (four kills).
Allen produced eight digs. Barer had six digs and Bosworth collected four blocks.
Ellie Dallas doled out 12 assists and contributed seven digs.
M-S (23-4 overall) returns to action on Monday (Oct. 9) at home against Downs Tri-Valley.
The M-S junior varsity team rallied to beat Taylorville, 13-25, 25-19, 15-13, but the Bulldog freshmen dropped a 21-18, 21-12 decision.
