Mahomet-Seymour to host STEAM Career and Collegiate night
Mahomet-Seymour students and parents are invited to STEAM Career and Collegiate night at the Mahomet-Seymour High School from 5-7 p.m. on January 15.
Organized by M-S Agriculture Teacher Jennifer Wherley, junior high and high school students will have a chance to learn about collegiate programs and scholarships, participate in interactive events and talk to employers about professional careers.
All students are also invited to register to participate in a session (4-5:30 or 6-7:30 p.m.) of the renowned Dale Carnegie Leadership workshop in the Mahomet-Seymour Auditorium.
More than 60 career booths will be set up in the gymnasium.
Students can also try their hand at drone accuracy, a plant science applicator simulator, a gps/surveying land management activity and an interactive virtual welding activity in the fieldhouse.
Colleges will be set up in the commons area to answer students’ questions about colleges, majors and admissions while they can also find information about scholarships and educational funding in the library.
