Mahomet-Seymour Tennis wins first match of the season

Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ tennis team opened its season on Tuesday (April 11) by winning every match in a dual meet at Danville.
M-S prevailed 4-0, winning three matches in singles and the only doubles match.
The singles winners were junior Jacob Atteberry (No. 1), junior Jack Louis (No. 2) and sophomore Lucas Raquel (No. 3). Collectively, they won 24 of 25 games.
In doubles, the duo of junior Collin Ishcomer and senior Gage Williams earned a 6-1 victory.
M-S (1-0) returns to action on Thursday (April 13) at Effingham.
Mahomet-Seymour Girls’ Soccer
Sophomore Grace Binkley scored three goals and assisted one on as the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ soccer team won its home-opener, 6-1, on Tuesday (April 14) against Lincoln.
The Bulldogs are 3-0 in Apollo Conference contests.
Brielle Galvan and Paislee Welge each hit one goal and added one assist. Gwen Cambron accounted for the other M-S goal.
Ella Walk put up two assists for the Bulldogs. Emma Dallas also had an assist.
Ashlyn Labbe finished with three saves.
On Monday (April 10), the Bulldogs fought to a 1-1 draw at Washington.
Kallie Stutsman scored the goal, with an assist from Taylor Dietz.
M-S (5-0-2) returns to action on Thursday (April 13) at home against Mattoon.
