Mahomet-Seymour Tennis Dominates Paris with 9-0 Sweep, Extends Undefeated Streak

Mahomet-Seymour athletes swept seven matches in straight sets on Tuesday (Sept. 10) en route to a 9-0 dual-meet victory in girls’ tennis at Paris.
At No. 1 singles, Adella Bird beat Emerson Barrett, 6-1, 6-1.
At No. 2 singles, Holland Martin bounced Bella Moreschi, 6-2, 6-2.
At No. 3 singles Elana Religioso dealt Shelby Fry a 6-0, 6-1 setback.
At No. 4 singles, Eliza Agate topped Ava Barrett 6-3, 6-1.
At No. 5 singles, Ashley Shoaf defeated Kaidence Eveland, 6-1, 6-3.
Meanwhile at No. 6 singles, Emmie Flores recovered from a first-set loss to get past def. Myah Bartos, 2-6 , 7-5 , 1-0 (8).
In doubles, the Bulldogs’ No. 1 duo of Religioso and Haley Reed scored a victory over Barrett and Moreschi, 6-2, 7-6 (7).
At No 2 doubles, Bird and Martin took care of Fry and Barrett, 6-4, 6-1.
Rallying from a first-set loss at No. 3 doubles were Shoaf and Lindsay Gowler. They posted a 2-6, 6-1, 1-0 (7) win over Paedyn Keys and Natalie Burger.
M-S is 6-0 in dual meets and owns a cumulative record of 48-6 in those matches. The Bulldogs return to action on Thursday (Sept. 12) at the Middleton Courts against Kankakee Bishop McNamara.
The three M-S doubles teams that won at Paris have a combined 10-1 season mark. The six Bulldogs who won in singles have an overall mark of 19-3 for the year with 16 of the wins occurring in two sets.
