The Bulldogs placed fourth on Saturday in the Centennial Sectional. Nineteen schools scored points at the single-class meet.
M-S totaled 95 points.
Meet champion Champaign Central amassed 269 points and was followed by Centennial (253) and Charleston (121).
The Bulldogs finished among the top four teams in all three relays, each anchored by senior Evan Herriott.
The 200-yard freestyle relay placed third in 1 minute, 37.38 seconds. The foursome featured Carter Logsdon, David Andrawes, Mitch McAnally and Herriott. McAnally had the fastest split (23.45).
The 200-yard medley finished third in 1:50.88. The quartet included Max Katz, Zachary Orr, McAnally and Herriott. The quickest split belonged to Herriott (23.54).
The 400-yard freestyle relay also ended in fourth. The swimmers were Katz, McAnally, Logsdon and Herriott. Again, the fastest split belonged to Herriott (52.72).
The three relays accounted for 68 of the M-S points.
Three Bulldogs earned points (for placing among the top 12) in two individual events. Katz was the runner-up in diving (368.40 points) and took 10th in the 100-yard backstroke (1:03.05).
Orr was ninth in the 200-yard individual medley (2:31.57) and added a 12th in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:13.23).

The other individual placer was Herriott. He took ninth in the 100-yard freestyle (53.78).

Across the board, coach Dean Ekberg was pleased by his team’s performance.
“All the Bulldog swimmers got PRs at sectionals, which is amazing,” Ekberg said. “It was a fantastic season.”
M-S ended the year 8-5 in dual meets.
