Mahomet-Seymour Boys Soccer
After an emotional start to the night, the Mahomet-Seymour Varsity Soccer team defeated Metamora 6-0 Tuesday.
The Bulldogs began the varsity match with a moment of silence to honor Jacob Hamilton, who was lost in a tragic car accident this past May.
Having never defeated Metamora in previous attempts, Ethan Mansfield struck early and was assisted by Austin Carr just 2:39 into the game.
Ten minutes later Brandon Bussman placed a penalty kick into the side netting for a 2-0 lead. Shortly after, Ethan Mansfield returned the earlier favor, and assisted Austin Carr to give the Bulldogs a 3-0 lead.
Coming off the bench, off-season workhorse, Callan Whitehouse was assisted by Kerry Lippold, and again later by Trevor Burgess, to add to the Bulldog lead. Colton Brunner tallied one before half unassisted to leave the Bulldogs with a comfortable 6-0 halftime lead. Cory
Cebulski had four quality saves to earn a clean sheet for the team.

The MSHS Girls Cross Country Team started the season with a near perfect score at Saint Thomas Moore scoring 17 points for the win.
