Mahomet-Seymour Speech team to perform in Mahomet on Feb. 13
The Mahomet-Seymour Speech Team finished their season at the IHSA Regional Tournament in Normal on Feb. 8.
Eleven Mahomet students competed in 13 events at the tournament, with 10 events advancing to the final round of competition.
All eleven students received honors in their individual events:
Savannah Smith (6th place Impromptu Speaking),
Averhy Sanborn (5th place Prose Reading),
Madison Ade (6th place Original Comedy),
Tadeo Ruiz (6th place Special Occasion Speaking),
Kylie Fuoss (6th place Humorous Interpretation),
Zoe Hovde and Kiana Bailey (7th place Dramatic Duet Acting),
Joshua Park and Jenna Ledin (7th place Humorous Duet Acting),
Nick Harfst (7th place Informational Speaking),
Miranda Morrissette (6th place Poetry Reading),
and Joshua Park (7th place Radio Speaking).
Students will present their pieces for friends and family at the Speech Team Showcase and Awards night on Feb. 13 from 5-8pm at the high school library. The public is invited to attend.
