Mahomet-Seymour Speech team competes at Eureka, finishes 8th

The MSHS Speech Team traveled to Eureka High School on Jan. 14 and finished in 8th place out of 20 schools attending.

Seven students participated, with several advancing to the final round of competition. Students recognized include: Isabelle Fonte (5th place Varsity Radio and Humorous Interp.), Madison Young (6th place Varsity Original Oratory), Allison McGregor (2nd place JV Humorous Duet and 5th place JV Humorous Interp.), Olivia Blackman (2nd place JV Humorous Duet and 3rd place Prose), KJ Jackson (4th place JV Impromptu), and Alexus Brown (6th place JV Impromptu).

Next Saturday, January 21 the team will host a tournament at home, with 10 area schools attending. The public is welcome to attend and watch the competition at MSHS, which begins at 9am.
