Mahomet-Seymour Speech finishes 8th at Sectional

The Mahomet-Seymour Speech Team finished their season with an eighth-place finish against 21 schools in the Belleville Sectional competition on Feb. 11. This is the highest place the team has achieved at Sectionals since the team’s inception.

Students receiving individual recognition included:

• Isabelle Fonte – 6th place in Humorous Interpretation
• Noora Kassem – 4th place Prose Reading
• Samantha Johnson – 5th place Radio
• Madison Ade – 6th place Special Occasion Speaking
• Noora Kassem & Emmaline Culp – 6th place Dramatic Duet
• Kiersten Williamson – 6th place Extemporaneous Speaking

Other students competing included Eden Sanborn, KJ Jackson, Allison McGregor, Olivia Blackman, Alec Berg, and Madison Young.

The team will celebrate the conclusion of their season with a Speech Showcase at the MSHS Auditorium on Monday, February 13 beginning at 5:30pm. The public is invited to attend.
