Mahomet-Seymour softball splits doubleheader with Mattoon

Five Bulldogs had hits in each game of an Apollo Conference doubleheader on Saturday (May 6), as Mahomet-Seymour claimed a split at Mattoon.
M-S pushed across four runs in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh inning of the first game and scored an 11-10 victory. Mattoon won the second game, 4-2.
Bulldogs with hits in each game were Kenadi Granadino (3-for-8 overall), Madelyn Logsdon (3-for-9), Madeleine Cortez (2-for-8), Sydney Ward (4-for-8) and Brooke Hartman (4-for-7).
Wade was 3-for-3 in the opener and walked on her other two plate appearances. Hartman also delivered three hits in the first game. Logsdon drove in four runs and Wade had two RBI.
Madisyn White and Lauren Ribbe both scored two runs.
Ava Henderson pitched a complete game, walking four and striking out five.
Granadino and Cortez scored runs in the second game. Cortez and Ward drove in the runs.
Katherine Severns pitched all six innings. She issued two walks and fanned one hitter.
M-S (9-14) returns to action on Monday (May 8) at Heyworth. The Bulldogs are 5-5 in Apollo Conference games.
