Mahomet-Seymour softball picks up conference win over Mount Zion

Aubrie Shore cracked four hits and Ashley Campbell drove in three runs on Saturday (May 29) as the Bulldogs topped Mount Zion 9-5 in an Apollo Conference softball game in Mahomet.

Shore pounded two doubles and scored three runs.

Campbell, Chloe Truax and Karley Yergler totaled two hits apiece. Jadyn Hannah scored three runs.

Yergler pitched a complete-game, improving her season record to 10-5. She allowed six hits, three earned runs, no walks and struck out 11. It was her ninth game to reach double digits in strikeouts this spring.

The Bulldogs are 5-2 in Apollo Conference action. Charleston leads the league with a 6-0 conference slate.

M-S (15-7) returns to action in a Class 3A regional game on Wednesday (June 2) at home against fifth-seeded Lincoln. The Bulldogs are the No. 4 seed.
