Mahomet-Seymour Softball Edged Out by Normal University High in Narrow 3-2 Loss

Mahomet-Seymur’s softball team lost its second one-run decision of the season on Thursday (April 11) as Normal University High posted a 3-2 win in Mahomet.

Kalista Granadino and Madeleine Cortez each ripped two hits for M-S, including one triple apiece.

They scored the Bulldogs’ runs in the fifth inning. Cortez had the first RBI and Rio Casillas knocked in the second run.

Other Bulldogs with hits besides Granadino and Cortez were Ava Henderson, Casillas, Madelyn Logsdon and Brooklyn Dyer.

Henderson pitched the first five innings and allowed just one earned run. She walked two batters and fanned six.

Katherine Severns threw the last two scoreless innings and permitted three hits.

M-S (3-9) returns to action on Monday (April 15) at Champaign Central.
