Mahomet-Seymour Softball Dominates Decatur MacArthur 13-2, Faces Setback Against Tri-Valley

Brooklyn Dyer, Brooke Hartman and Presley Cox all produced two hits on Monday (April 29) as the Mahomet-Seymour softball team overpowered Decatur MacArthur, 13-2, at home.

Cox slugged a home run and knocked in three runs. Hartman, Kalista Granadino and Madison Taylor all had two RBI.

Granadino, Ava Henderson, Madelyn Logsdon, Taylor and Jordan Uebelhoer all ended with one hit. Dyer and Henderson drove in one run apiece.

Hartman scored three runs. Cox, Dyer and Granadino tallied two runs each.

Henderson pitched a five-inning six-hitter. She walked two batters and struck out six.

On Wednesday (May 1), the Bulldogs dropped an 8-3 decision to Tri-Valley in Downs.

Granadino and Logsdon both socked two hits. Finishing with one hit each were Rio Casillas, Madeleine Cortez, Cox and Dyer. Cortez and Dyer drove in runs. Casillas, Granadino and Taylor all crossed home plate one time.

Henderson pitched all six innings. She walked no one and fanned five.

M-S (5-14) returns to action on Friday (May 3) at home against Bloomington Central Catholic.
