Mahomet-Seymour Soccer Season Ends with Sectional Semifinal Loss to Chatham Glenwood, Finishing with a 16-8-2 Record

Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ soccer season ended on Wednesday (Oct. 30) with a 6-0 loss to Chatham Glenwood in a semifinal match of the IHSA Class 2A Warrensburg-Latham Sectional.
M-S was one win away from advancing to the Sweet 16.
Glenwood also defeated the Bulldogs in a regular-season match, 4-1.
The Bulldogs, winners of the Apollo Conference championship, finish the year with a 16-8-2 record.
Fifteen players scored goals and 17 finished with at least one assist this season.
The top goal-scorers were Travis Hoffman (24), Colin Jackson (13), Preston Sriver (five), Chris Bowie (four), Tate Kimball (four), Noah Crane (three) and Ethan Ramirez (three).
Hoffman recorded a team-high three hat tricks.
The assist leaders were Hoffman (11), Jackson (10), Crane (eight), Bowie (four), Hayden Litteken (four), Brody Back (three), Kimball (three), Ramirez (three) and Sriver (three).
Litteken was the primary goalkeeper for a squad which produced six shutouts.
M-S was 8-1-1 in Apollo Conference action under first-year head coach Kerry Lippold. The Bulldogs outscored their league opponents by a combined 44-6 margin.
Chatham Glenwood will face Springfield in the sectional finals on Saturday (Nov. 2) for a berth in the Elite Eight.
