Mahomet-Seymour Soccer Dominates Charleston 8-1 in Apollo Conference Opener

Mahomet-Seymour opened the Apollo Conference portion of its schedule on Thursday (Sept. 12) with an 8-1 victory at Charleston.
The scoring output of eight goals matched the team’s total for the first seven matches.
On Tuesday (Sept. 10), the Bulldogs lost at home to Chatham Glenwood, 4-1.
Travis Hoffman hit the M-S goal, with an assist from Ezekiel Beyer. Hayden Litteken produced nine saves.
The Bulldogs (3-4-1 overall) have won two of their last three matches.
In the final match of the Urbana Tournament on Saturday (Sept. 7), after a 2-2 tie in regulation against Champaign Central, the Bulldogs won on penalty kicks.
Litteken had six saves, two in the penalty kick phase.
Hoffman nailed two goals and Colin Jackson contributed two assists. Beyer, a freshman, hit the winning score on a penalty kick.
M-S returns to action on Tuesday (Sept. 17) at home against Mattoon at Middletown Field.
