Mahomet-Seymour Soccer Club cancels spring season
The Mahomet-Seymour Soccer Club has canceled the rest of their Spring 2020 season. The season has been in question since March 17, when Gov. Pritzker released the stay-at-home public order.
Club executives have been posting regularly regarding their season on their Facebook page. The first Covid-19 update was released on March 12.
On April 2, the club made a post about the Illinois Youth Soccer Association suspending practices and games. Updates were made on April 23 further suspending activities until at least May 31.
Safety is the number one priority to the Mahomet-Seymour Soccer Club, and they hope that this cancellation will keep their players healthy and fit.
The MSSC will be giving refunds to players enrolled in the season, and hope to hold their fall tryouts in July.
