Mahomet-Seymour Shines in Individual and Relay Events Despite Dual-Meet Loss to Monticello

Mahomet-Seymour athletes won seven individual events and combined for victories on two relays Monday (April 8) in a 83-59 dual-meet loss at home to Monticello.
Madalyn Marx was a double winner for the Bulldogs.
She outsprinted the competition in the 200 meters (25.92 seconds) and the 400 meters (57.62 seconds).
Other runners who were victorious were Chloe Bundren and Emily Anand.
Bundren won the 800 meters (personal-best 2:31.99) and Anand was triumphant in the 1,600 meters (personal-best 5:41.05).
The Bulldogs’ field event meet champions were Kelsie Fuoss (pole vault at personal-best 10 feet, 6 inches), Lauren Burr (long jump at 16 feet) and Ayla Finfrock (triple jump at personal-best 30 feet, 9 inches).
M-S won the two longest relays.
Sharing the baton in the 1,600 relay were Marx, Burr, Kara Carney and Anniston Huff. They were timed in 4:08.90.
In the 3,200 relay, the winning foursome consisted of Morgan Waisath, Jaci Kellenberger, Emma Frazier and Taylor Mills. Their composite time was 10:48.70.
Finishing in the runner-up position individually was Burr in both the 200 meters (26.80 seconds) and the 400 meters (1:01.25).
The school’s 800-meter relay also captured second. The runners were Kira Smith, Fuoss, Lydia Risser and Alyssa Gray. Their cumulative time was 1:57.00.
M-S will return to action on Friday (April 12) in the Bloomington Invitational.
