The Bulldogs posted their best team score of the boys’ golf season on Tuesday (Sept. 22) in decisioning Centennial 167-171 in a dual meet at Lake of the Woods.
All six M-S participants scored between 41 and 44.
Zach Courson was the meet runner-up and led the Bulldogs with a 41.
Three teammates tied for third place individually after carding 42s: Blake Harvey, C.J. Shoaf and Jackson White.
The other Bulldog competitors were Jameson Drinkwalter (43) and Brian Coyne (44).
In the junior varsity meet, M-S defeated the Chargers 184-198.
Carter Selk was the JV medalist with a 43.
Other M-S JV scores were: Erik Christianson (44), John Wagner (47), Jacob Louis (50), Jaedon Lager (52) and Ryan Long (55).
Bulldog John Schlenker tied for medalist honors on Monday (Sept. 21) in a three-school junior varsity meet at Charleston Country Club.
Schlenker fired a 43.
Two teammates placed among the top 10 in a field of 23 competitors.
Riley Dowers carded a 47 and was eighth. Brogan Hennesy shot a 48 and placed ninth.
Other M-S participants were: Lager (51), Sean Summers (54), Braden Houchin (55), Ryland Fitzgerald (55) and Carson Drinkwalter (62).
In the team chase, Mattoon was first with 183, followed by Charleston (186) and M-S (189).
The Bulldogs’ varsity returns to action on Monday (Sept. 28) at Lincoln in the Apollo Conference meet. M-S is 8-4 in dual meets.
