Mahomet-Seymour picks up four consecutive wins

Cayla Koerner tallied a game-high 18 points on Thursday (Jan. 20) as the Mahomet-Seymour girls’ basketball team won at Normal University High, 38-29.
Savannah Orgeron deposited 12 points and Ivie Juarez added four points.
After falling behind, 9-6, after one quarter, M-S climbed into a 19-12 halftime advantage.
Durbin Thomas claimed three rebounds to go with two steals. Abigail Bunting contributed two steals and two rebounds.
Orgeron also captured two rebounds.
On Saturday (Jan. 22), M-S won its fourth consecutive game, 50-36 at home over Chatham Glenwood.
Koerner set the pace with 12 points and three steals. Nichole Taylor backed her with 11 points, seven rebounds and three steals.
Chloe Pruitt contributed eight points and six rebounds. Juarez totaled six points, six rebounds and four steals.
Durbin Thomas pulled down five rebounds and Abigail Bunting corralled three steals.
The Bulldogs led, 14-8, after one quarter and 29-17 at halftime.
M-S (19-4) returns to action on Monday (Jan. 24) at Mount Zion.
