Mahomet-Seymour overpowers Oakwood baseball

Carter Johnson and Blake Wolters each cracked home runs on Wednesday (April 12) as the Mahomet-Seymour baseball team overpowered Oakwood, 13-3, in a non-conference game in Mahomet.
Both players collected three hits. Wolters also swatted two doubles.
Johnson drove in three runs and Wolters delivered two RBI. Johnson tallied two runs and Wolters crossed home plate three times.
Mateo Casillas also contributed two hits, including a double, and scored twice. Cade Starrick also tallied two runs.
Alex McHale picked up the victory. He pitched three scoreless innings, yielding one hit and one walk. McHale fanned eight batters.
Mason Orton, the third of three Bulldog pitchers, closed out the win, retiring both batters he faced. Orton struck out one hitter.
M-S (11-2) returns to action on Thursday (April 13) at home against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley. Oakwood has a season record of 9-3-1.
