Mahomet-Seymour loses to Teutopolis
By Fred Kroner
Shooting woes proved costly for the Mahomet-Seymour boys’ basketball team on Tuesday (March 9) in a 63-36 Apollo Conference loss to Teutopolis.
The Bulldogs made just 6 of 18 free throws (33 percent) and only 2 of 14 three-point attempts (14.3 percent).
Beyond that, M-S coach Ryan Bosch said, “We missed a ton of good shots early.”
Teutopolis led, 13-2, after one quarter.
Luke Koller – who made all four of his free throw attempts – led M-S with 14 points and seven rebounds.
Eli Warren tallied 10 points to go with a team-high three assists. Quinton McCullough pulled down three rebounds.
“We won’t beat quality teams only scoring 36 points most nights,” Bosch said. “I believe our kids were playing hard, though we’ve proven ourselves to be a smarter team than we showed.
“Teutopolis was the better team tonight.”
The Bulldogs have scored fewer than 48 points in just two games this season, and both were losses.
M-S (9-4) returns to action on Friday (March 12) at home against Charleston in the season’s final game.
