The Bulldogs fell behind, 2-0, in the second set before storming back.
An eight-point service run by Erin Dallas featured six aces, including five in succession as M-S sprinted into a 9-2 lead.
Mount Zion pulled within one point on three occasions, but a five-point service run by DeWitt helped close out the eight-point second-set victory.
The eighth-graders also registered a pair of two-set sweeps, including a 25-12, 25-13 conquest of Paris Crestwood.
A nine-point service spree by Elana Religioso helped the Bulldogs pull ahead, 17-7, in the first set.

The Bulldogs played their first road match on Thursday (Feb. 4) and topped Mount Zion, 25-23, 25-14.
M-S built a 17-7 first-set lead with the help of a four-point service run by Kylie Waldinger. After the home team forced a 23-23 tie, the Bulldogs tallied the next two points, the clincher coming on an ace by Waldinger.
In the second set, extended service runs by Ellie Dallas and Alayna Kinney, combined with strong play at the net, were responsible for an 11-point win.
Kinney’s ace accounted for the match’s final point.
Elle Barker totaled seven kills. Teammate Talia Francom had six kills and two blocks. Waldinger added five kills and two blocks.
The M-S teams (each 3-0) return to action on Wednesday (Feb. 10) at Champaign Jefferson.
