Mahomet-Seymour High School makes Chicago Sun Times top 50 high school list
In a report released by the Chicago Sun Times, Mahomet-Seymour High School is once again in the top 50 Illinois High Schools.
Based on state achievement test scores, MSHS moved up six spots to 28th in Illinois after being ranked 34th in 2013. In 2011 the high school was ranked 90th, and in 2012 they moved up to 36th.
MSHS Principal Shannon Cheek recognized the hard work of the high school staff and all educators throughout the district at Monday night’s Mahomet-Seymour School Board meeting.
“Our staff is doing an outstanding job of serving all kids,” Cheek said. “And I couldn’t be more proud of them.”
Only two schools outside of Chicago, Mahomet-Seymour High School and Dunlap High School, made the top 30 list.
