Mahomet-Seymour grabs two wins over Charleston and Effingham

Mahomet-Seymour’s girls’ basketball team scored 51 first-half points on Thursday (Jan. 26) and raced past Charleston, 74-13, at home.
M-S led, 31-0, after one quarter.
Savannah Orgeron led the Bulldogs with 22 points. She also put up five rebounds and four steals.
Emma Dallas scored a season-high 11 points. Kylie Waldinger and Aleyna Dewitt each added nine points.
Durbin Thomas cleared a team-high five rebounds. Dewitt recorded four steals and Ellie Dallas finished with three rebounds.
On Saturday (Jan. 28), M-S posted a 50-43 win at Effingham.
Orgeron led the way with 19 points. Thomas matched a season-high with 13 points and grabbed three rebounds. Waldinger chipped in with 12 points and six rebounds.
Reese Gallier contributed four points and four rebounds. Abby Bunting finished with three rebounds and three steals.
The Bulldogs led, 10-8, after one quarter and 24-17 at halftime.
M-S (20-7) is 4-4 in Apollo Conference action.
The Bulldogs reached 20-win seasons in back-to-back years for the third time in school history. The first time it happened was 2003-04 and 2004-05 and the second time was 2004-05 and 2005-06
The Bulldogs return to action on Tuesday (Jan. 31) at Normal Community.
