Mahomet-Seymour golf team advances to Class 2A IHSA Sectional
Mahomet-Seymour’s boys’ golf team tied for first place on Wednesday (Sept. 28) in the nine-school Class 2A IHSA regional tournament at Danville’s Turtle Run Golf Course and advanced to the sectional.
The Bulldogs and Champaign Central shot composite scores of 313 to share the team crown.
In a field of 50 competitors, all seven M-S entrants finished in the top half at the regional.
Reis Claybrooke carded a 74 and was the individual runner-up, ending three strokes behind the meet medalist.
Leif Olson recorded a 78 and tied for third place, Blake Harvey shot a 79 and tied for sixth, Parker Clements fired an 82 and tied for 12th, Kelton Henessy registered an 84 and tied for 15th and Jacob Schoudel posted an 86 and tied for 22nd.
The entire M-S team will compete in the Limestone Sectional on Monday (Oct. 3) at Coyote Creek Golf Course.
