Mahomet-Seymour Girls’ Tennis Sweeps Taylorville for 16th Straight Dual Meet Victory

Mahomet-Seymour’s girls’ tennis team rolled to its 16th consecutive dual meet win on Tuesday (Oct. 8) by sweeping Taylorville, 9-0, at the Middletown Courts.
Every match ended with the Bulldog entry prevailing in straight sets.
The toughest matchup came at No. 1 singles where Ashley Shoaf edged Grayson Good 7-6 (4), 7-6 (6).
The other M-S singles’ winners were Charlotte Mercer at No. 2 (6-0, 6-1), Eliza Agate at No. 3 (6-1, 6-1), Holland Martin at No. 4 (6-0, 6-0), Elana Religioso at No. 5 (6-0, 6-0) and Lindsay Gowler at No. 6 (6-2, 6-0).
Six different players took the courts for doubles and completed the shutout.
At No. 1 doubles, Emmie Flores and Courtney Gowler scored a 6-1, 6-2 win.
At No. 2 doubles, Evie Hillard and Violet Franklin came out on top, 6-1, 6-2.
At No. 3 doubles, Caroline Aden and Emme Laughton were victorious, 6-4 6-4.
M-S (16-0) returns to action on Thursday (Oct. 10) at home against St. Thomas More.
